Reidel Anthony was the deep threat who turned Steve Spurrier's Fun 'n' Gun offense into an absolute nightmare for defensive coordinators across the SEC. When Wuerffel aired it out and Anthony got behind the secondary, it was over before anyone could blink. The 1996 Florida Gators won four straight SEC titles under Spurrier, but this was the year they finally broke through — demolishing Florida State 52-20 in the Sugar Bowl to win the Gators' first-ever national championship. Wuerffel threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns in that game, with Anthony, Ike Hilliard, and Jacquez Green torching the Seminoles' secondary.
