Diehard Buffalo Sabres fans celebrate Rene Robert and Gilbert Perreault as two-thirds of the legendary French Connection — one of the most exciting lines in NHL history. Perreault was the dazzling centerman with moves that left defenders frozen in their skates, a Calder Trophy winner whose end-to-end rushes and silky puck-handling made him the greatest player in Sabres history. Robert was the sharp-shooting right winger who provided the finishing touch, burying goals with a quick release that perfectly complemented Perreault's playmaking wizardry. Together they powered the Sabres to the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals and made the Memorial Auditorium one of the most electric buildings in hockey. The French Connection gave Buffalo a hockey identity it still cherishes to this day. If you're looking for a slick, retro t-shirt to represent the Sabres and the French Connection, you'll love this political campaign-themed throwback style tee. They have my vote, what about you?
