Page Fence Giants Vintage Logo Shirt - Retro Defunct Baseball Shirt

The Page Fence Giants didn't just play baseball — they announced Black excellence to every small town in the Midwest from the back of their own private railroad car. Founded in 1895 in Adrian, Michigan, by the legendary Bud Fowler and Home Run Johnson, the Giants were sponsored by the Page Woven Wire Fence Company and immediately became the most dominant team in Black baseball. In 1896, they beat the Cuban X-Giants in a 15-game series to claim the unofficial colored championship. In 1897, they went 125-12 with 82 consecutive wins. Eighty-two straight. Fowler handpicked players of high moral character — five of the twelve were college graduates — and they played with a style and discipline that embarrassed opponents at every level, including white minor league clubs. Future Hall of Famer Sol White manned second base. The Giants barnstormed through 112 towns in their first season alone, wearing black and maroon uniforms and playing ball that nobody in Michigan had ever seen before.
