Before they were the Chicago Bears, they were the Decatur Staleys — the industrial-league football team sponsored by the A.E. Staley starch company that would grow into one of the most iconic franchises in all of professional sports. Founded in 1919 in Decatur, Illinois, the Staleys were coached and led by the legendary George Halas, who moved the team to Chicago in 1921 before renaming them the Bears in 1922. The Staleys won the 1920 APFA championship — the precursor to the NFL title — making them one of the founding pillars of professional football in America. For football historians and Bears diehards who want to celebrate where one of the NFL's charter franchises truly began, this distressed vintage logo tee takes you back to the very roots of pro football. Celebrate Chicago football heritage with this retro, vintage-styled shirt.
