Curry & Copeland '92 - Alabama Crimson Tide Retro Campaign Shirt

The Bookends. Eric Curry and John Copeland lined up on opposite ends of the Alabama Crimson Tide's defensive line in 1992, and what happened to every quarterback who dropped back to pass against them was borderline cruel. Curry was the UPI Lineman of the Year and a consensus All-American who racked up 10.5 sacks. Copeland matched him with 10.5 sacks of his own from the other side. Together they anchored the number one defense in America — first in scoring defense, first in rushing yards allowed, first in passing yards allowed, first in total defense. Gene Stallings turned them loose against Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta and the undefeated Miami Hurricanes in the Sugar Bowl, and the Bookends destroyed everything in sight. Alabama won 34-13, ending Miami's 29-game winning streak and bringing the national championship back to Tuscaloosa for the first time since Bear Bryant. Both were drafted in the first round — Copeland fifth overall, Curry sixth.
